Just in time to uplift my rainy day moods, I received an invite to the Lacoste showroom to preview the new spring handbags, clothing and a younger, more colourful line: Lacoste L!VE.
Inspired by the incredible spectrum of shades that Lacoste polos come in, the luxe leather bags are being offered in the same bright hues. Dubbed the L.12.12 collection, the bags comes in an array of sizes and strap lengths. I was lucky enough to be able to take one with me to last week’s World Mastercard Fashion Week and was photographed by Max Kopanygin of Flare.com.
In addition to bags that encompass the identity of the brand, new clothing designs were on display to call to mind the original Lacoste and his love of tennis. When you look closely at the patterns on the mannequins, you can make out the tiny illustrations of rackets, tennis balls, and even tiny polo shirts.
Which brings me to the newest member of the Lacoste family: the L!VE line. Aimed at attracting customers between 15 and 35 years of age, this collection offers clothing and bags in an assortment of vibrant colours, Even the iconic alligator emblem is updated in white-and-blue beads. One shiny peach-hued bag in particular caught my eye as did a vibrant, fun sweater that mixed black with soft blues and pink in an almost psychedelic pattern.
